Steven B. Moore Sr. PHD

Steven Bernard “Doc” Moore Sr. has served around the world in the Department of Defense. Doc Moore and the Moore Ohana (Family) (Steven Jr, Te’Arra, and Ta’Tianna) were stationed in and traveled around Europe and Asia while assigned to various military units. From the Great Wall of China to the Taj Mahal in Agra, India Doc Moore has talked with people of all cultures and walks of life to obtain the narratives in his Anthology of Horror series.


Doc is a retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant (MSG) having served in the Army for 21 years, two months, and 15 days. Doc Moore also served in Operation Iraqi Freedom 2003, receiving the Bronze Star Medal for combat intelligence operations while assigned to the Joint Special Operations Task Force-North (JSOTF-N)10th Special Forces (Airborne). Doc Moore also received the Meritorious Service Medal for combat operations and service during the Global War on Terror (GWOT) from the U.S. Army and the Department of Defense.


Doc received his Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Journalism and Mass Communications from Drake University, Iowa. While on active duty, Doc received his Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Troy University, Alabama. Moore earned his Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration from Walden University, Minnesota.


Besides writing novels and textbooks, Doc Moore is also a professional musician. Doc Moore & The Moore Ohana Band have numerous compositions available from streaming services including iTunes, Amazon, Pandora, iHeart Radio, Spotify.


Doc Moore Sr. currently lives in Hawaii with his wife TanyaLynn; when not working or writing Doc and TanyaLynn are at Bellows Beach Waimanalo swimming or Tracks Nanakuli fishing.
